Circa Survie 5-10

So when i heard circa survive was coming through salt lake opening for coheed and cambria, i was super content. Im not a coheed fan. so i procrastinated on buying the ticket until day of and as that morning i had made up my mind that i wasnt going to go. You know, save my dinero and all. But my mind changed about 3 o clock that day and i left work early to venture off to the abyss of Magna, Utah. I got there early and there was still a ferocious line.

Anyway, Torche played and they were alright in my opinion, and while i waiting anxiously for circa to come on, I just thought of how i almost didn't come. They started the set with "Get Out" and was blown away. They played a great bunch of songs from all three albums and they were so tight. Anyway after they played a bunch of people left and stayed to see if coheed can win me over. Unfortunately they didn't and i left after their first song. I got this pair of screen printed artwork from circa survive, cant wait to get them framed. Never hesitate these kind of things.

During Desert Noises' spring dates with Joshua James, they had a day of his tour with a date in Fort Collins, Colorado. F.C. is a nice college town with a pretty kickin night life it seemed but at The Art Lab is where musical enlightenment was happening. After Desert Noises played, the 8 piece Candy Claws were next. The set was so cool, I have never heard anything like it. The quite harmonies, synth sounds and samples were very intriguing, not to mention the drums and percussion. Everything about this band was fun and warming. These people were super friendly and caring for each other and to us. Just an overall great band and group of people. I just hope I get to see them again.

So every 2 or 3 weeks I get on Sunday, I rearrange my room. My bedroom is something I try to put together so I can enjoy it when I am actually home. Fridge with drinks is key. So today I did it again and even to blog about it. All I need is some a cool name for it.

What became of everyone i used to know? Where did our respectable convictions go? Your words don't match the story that your actions show, but what do i know?

Don't you just love being around genuinely nice people? Just thinking about those people who are always trying to help others and respect them. Even though they are not respected or have much to give and who are not doing it to be recognized, just that they truly care. It's a pleasure to be around them and have them as great examples.

is it wrong for straight dudes to get facials and pedicures? sure sure, it is not an everyday thing to find them at salons and spas, but why not? I just want to feel sexy and hot. Is that so wrong? and May 14th @ Kilby Court in SLC. He will be releasing his new album "Goodnight Dannii" and they will be his last "Drew Danburry" shows. Both shows have an awesome supporting lineup(Cameron Mcgill, Desert Noises, Gypsy Cab and Katie Brandeburg in Provo and Michael Gross, The Continentals, The Statuettes, and Emily Brown in SLC.) I have heard some of the songs from his new album and they are great! Also Drew will playing his set with a full band and it will be rad. Go enjoy one of these great nights of music.

Parlor Hawk

This weekend, on Saturday, as in tomorrow, as in April 10th 2010, at Velour, in Provo, at 8 pm, Parlor Hawk will have their Record Label Signing/CD Release Show! lots of commas. Anyway they are like one of my favorite bands locally and non. They are great. For the 1 person that will read this, think about going to this show, its going to sweet. Vinyl Club and Book on Tapeworm is playing is also playing.

Also The Conversationalist are playing their last show for a longtime at Muse that same night. Check out their set, its gonna be an acoustic one. They play like 9:15ish. Its should be a marvelous time.

So i have been making this joke with some of my co-workers that i am dating someone, this some is a fictional character from this recent video game i purchased. Her name is lightning and she is my girlfriend. I would tell you about her but i dont know her too well yet. so here is a description from wikipedia:

all the day holiday

This past week this, band from Cincinnati, Ohio, called All The Day Holiday crashed at my house for a night. They played an amazing set at Velour, no kidding. They are some of nicest people I have ever met. They were on the way back from playing Bamboozle California and Hoodwink Festivals. They Played with the likes of Circa Survive, Say Anything, AFI and a bunch of other cool bands. They are also playing the main stage at Bamboozle New Jersey with Weezer, Paramore, Drake, MGMT and the list goes on. Their music is really great and as people they are also really awesome dudes. Check them out.

Veckatimest

For some reason, the last two weeks of my life, i have basically have wanted to keep to myself. Im okay to stay home and not go out. At times its frustrating but I'm not complaining. This is quite enjoyable to me for some strange reason. I'll admit it, I like to be alone but there is some I would rather be with. I hope its just a phase, I don't want to have a social absence just yet. I have been listening to a lot grizzly bear, thats some good tunes.

Last night was great, it really was. It was one of the best nights I have had in a long time. Brand New and Manchester Orchestra were amazing. So rad.

I want to leave for a couple weeks, I don't know where, maybe mexico.

And for the people who know what this is or probably never read this, maybe in the next life.

So tonight, my great friend sierra and I went to Savers in search for, well, nothing particular. As we were looking through aisles of worthless thrift store technology, we came across 4 or 5 imac computers (the old school neon ones from elementary school). Then I was like "wat dat smell like!?", she didn't know what to say. Then I said, "don't make me ask you again!? Anyway, she wanted to test it, hey they could have had nanosaur on them. We searched for an outlet and sure enough they a technology testing center, so if you ever doubtful. We plugged it in and it works, it works. It probably had over $10 worth of music on it, so it is a profit. It goes to show thrift tech maybe a good thing, Also, of course it was only $9.99 for 10 year old technology.
